Subject: Call for Transparency and Accountability in the Allocation of Local GOP Resources
Dear Members of the Republican National Committee,
We, the Republican voters, donors, and candidates of San Diego County, are writing with a profound sense of urgency and concern regarding the allocation of resources by our local San Diego County GOP leadership in the 2024 election cycle. Our goal is to strengthen the integrity and effectiveness of our party’s operations, ensuring that local Republican candidates are adequately supported in their campaigns to promote conservative values, engage voters, and win elections.
Over the past election cycle, troubling reports have surfaced indicating that financial resources and strategic support intended for local Republican candidates have been diverted to out-of-county—and even out-of-state—candidates. This has led to questions about the decision-making processes, priorities, and oversight within our local party apparatus.
Many qualified and deserving Republican candidates for school board, state assembly, and other elected offices here in San Diego County, who reflect the values and interests of our community and the RNC political party platform, have found themselves overlooked and not funded. This situation has caused frustration, disillusionment, and a breakdown in trust between local stakeholders and party leadership.
Our Requests:
We respectfully call upon the RNC, and not our California state GOP, to commission a forensic audit of the San Diego County Republican Party’s resource allocation practices. Specifically, this audit should investigate:
- Who authorized financial or strategic support for candidates outside San Diego County or California.
- When these decisions were made and whether proper procedures and approvals were followed.
- Where the funds and resources were directed, and the criteria used to select those recipients.
- Why local candidates were deprioritized, and whether these decisions align with the party’s stated mission to strengthen conservative representation at all levels.
- What measures can be implemented to ensure fairness and transparency in future election cycles.
- How the broader interests of San Diego County Republicans are being served by the current leadership’s strategies.
Why This Matters:
San Diego County represents a diverse and pivotal region for Republican growth in California, a state where our party faces significant challenges. Every resource matters, and every dollar allocated should reflect a commitment to winning elections here at home. When our local candidates are sidelined, it not only weakens the Republican brand in our region but also dampens grassroots enthusiasm, suppresses voter turnout, and dissuades future candidates from stepping forward.
By addressing these concerns transparently and with urgency, the RNC has an opportunity to restore trust, foster unity, and reaffirm its commitment to supporting Republican candidates who best serve their communities. A forensic audit is not merely an investigation—it is a pathway to accountability and improvement, ensuring that our shared mission remains focused and undeterred.
We stand ready to collaborate with the RNC to make this audit a reality and to help rebuild the confidence of San Diego County Republicans in their party’s leadership. In the spirit of our shared values, we urge you to act decisively and swiftly to address these pressing issues.
Sincerely,
San Diego Republicans at www.sandiegorepublcian.com
